Description
Our pine honey stands out with its unique taste and deep, woody aroma. Each drop transports you to the heart of the forest. The taste is both sweet and intense, with slightly resinous notes and delicate hints of menthol. This honey is harvested in the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Natural Park.
The main difference between pine honey and regular honey lies in the nectar source. Most "regular" honeys are produced by bees collecting nectar from flowers.
Pine honey, also known as "pine honeydew", on the other hand, is produced from the honeydew secreted by aphids. Aphids feed on the sap of trees, especially pine trees, and secrete a sugary substance called honeydew. Bees, attracted by this sugary substance, collect it and transform it into pine honey in the hive.
The harvest season for pine honey in the Ardèche region generally runs from July to October.
